Once I started voice teaching, I couldn’t get enough of it! Watching students succeed and take their new skills on stage became something that excited and motivated me.
Fast forward 10 years and thousands of voice lessons later, I have the joy of teaching students all over the world how to be the best singers they can be.
Teaching both clean and distorted sounds, I’m a specialist in vocal distortions (grit, growls, rasp, screams). I have equipped performers to use these intense sounds on stage in rock or metal utilizing safe techniques for vocal health and longevity.
My style of teaching has evolved because of my frustrations and failures as a performer.
I enrolled in voice lessons in 9th grade, performed in any show I was able to fit into my schedule, and eventually decided to pursue singing as a career by going to school for classical singing/opera techniques.
But with each passing year, my range was decreasing, my confidence was crushed, and I was day by day becoming a more frustrated and less capable vocalist. My teachers at the time couldn’t help, and I had no idea where to turn.
That’s where voice teaching comes in! I started voice teacher training in 2016 just to improve my own singing, as a way to understand the physiology of the voice and get some answers to my top questions.
Not only did it instill in me a love for teaching, but it opened up a WHOLE other world in my own vocal technique! With the right exercises, my range was expanding like crazy!
My voice was getting more consistent, and not only that, but I was able to successfully sing rock, metal, opera, or musical theatre at will, being able to adapt my vocal skills based on the needs of a specific song.
It wasn’t about talking about the diaphragm or “placement” that made it happen. It was through an understanding of how the voice works and carefully crafted exercises that made it possible.
That’s why I created Elite Singer.
I perform when I can, but my main passion is helping other singers succeed. Unlocking my own potential encouraged me to share these techniques with others so they can take their best selves onstage and wow the crowd.
Throughout the years, I’ve gathered unique skillsets and experience with singing, distortions, acting, character building, and performing that allows me to serve my students with personalized lessons and pathways for success.
I believe strongly that everyone can learn to improve their vocal skills, and singing should be an empowering and joyful experience. You want to be on stage doing what you love, not stressed out about that next high note! I want to help you achieve those vocal goals.
